What Month is It?! Giant Hailstorm Falls on Sierra Nevada Mid-June

It was Father’s Day in the Sierra Nevada on Sunday, and while offspring were celebrating their fathers, it seemed like Mother Nature got a little bit jealous.

A massive hailstorm hit portions of the Sierra Nevada on Sunday, proving that the wacky winter of 2019 is not ready for the summer months, pushing through until mid-June.

In Truckee, residents were surprised by a large swath of hail falling from the sky, a rare sight in the summer months:

Also on Sunday, the storm moved down to the Sonora Pass, blanketing the high-elevation road and causing a traffic jam for miles:
