Truckee Police Rescue 7-Year-Old Girl from Snow Cave

The snow is so deep in Tahoe, it’s becoming a dangerous hazard for the locals.

On Monday April 1, Truckee PD officers assisted Truckee Fire staff with a rescue of a 7 year old girl, Eva, who fell in between the side of the house and the snow piled up from the winter.

Eva was approximately 6-8 feet down a narrow opening, and she had to put on her own helmet and harness so that fire and police personnel could hoist her to safety.

As the temperatures warm during the spring, it’s important to be aware of hazards like these “snow caves” in snowy areas.
