The film crew for Top Gun 2: Maverick is currently in South Lake Tahoe filming scenes for the highly anticipated sequel to classic 1986 film Top Gun. At the center of the shoot is Tom Cruise, reportedly performing his own stunts on a motorcycle as he speeds through the forested Tahoe roads.

Here is video published by TMZ that show Cruise on a motorcycle at the South Lake Tahoe Airport:

This is very exciting news for NorCal residents who are fans of the original Top Gun. This gives some hope that we will be able to see some high-flying action scene right in our own backyard.

TMZ reports that Cruise will have dialogue scenes in the Tahoe mountains and that the crew suspended cameras from trees along closed-off Tahoe roads for motorcycle scenes.

Also, a fleet of military aircraft have been seen flying around the lake lately, presumably for the shoot. The film is set to be released in June of 2020.
