Squaw Valley saw record breaking snowfall in February, with the most snowfall it’s ever recorded in a month in its nearly 70 year history. Now, with over 600 inches of snowfall on the mountain, the resort announced it will stay open well into summer with a closing date of July 7th.

The ski resort took to social media to make its exciting announcement:

Squaw Valley saw 300 inches of snowfall in February to give it by far the most snow of any Tahoe ski resort. Known for its advanced ski chutes and Olympic history, Squaw is one of the most popular resorts in Northern California.

So, as most resorts are switching over to their summer operations with mountain biking and scenic hikes, you’ll still be able to ski at Squaw. Who knows how much snow we’ll receive in the waning months of winter, but now we know there’s enough snow to last for quite some time.

Get stoked!
