The National Weather Service has announced a strong thunderstorm is approaching Lake Tahoe with 50-mph winds and nickel-size hail:

At 556 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over South Lake Tahoe, moving northwest at 30 mph. Nickel size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with this storm. pic.twitter.com/SvWUxIXGW2
