Storm Closes Mt. Shasta Ski Park for Second Consecutive Day

This month has been a whirlwind of blizzards and snowfall throughout Northern California, which has been a greta boost for local ski resorts. But when the storm gets too intense, they can’t take advantage of the fresh powder.

Mt. Shasta Ski Park closed again on Wednesday due to large snow accumulations and power outages.

The park was also closed on Tuesday, when the operations crew was not able to get the ski lifts unburied from the large snow accumulations at the top.

This isn’t the first time the park has needed to close due to weather. Earlier in February, similar conditions made unsafe conditions at the park.

It’s tough news for riders who are hoping to get a glimpse of the epic snowfall on the mountain today. But once the storm clears, the large snowpack will create a winter wonderland on the mountain. The stoke is coming soon!
