Snowfall Sinks At Least Four Houseboats on Shasta Lake

Following the massive winter storm that slammed Northern California last weekend, workers at Bridge Bay Marina on Shasta Lake returned to a surprising scene. Heavy snow had caused at least four houseboats to sink and topple into the water.

With a history of snowfall causing damage to houseboats, some marinas had workers onsite to keep an eye on how the snow would affect the boats. But no one expected the heavy snowfall that closed Interstate 5 in the area for nearly 24 hours. Due to its location along I-5, Bridge Bay workers would have had difficulty getting the to property.
