Everyone can admit that 2020 has been one of the craziest years in our lifetime. Not only are we dealing with a global pandemic, we also saw a historic celestial event in Comet Neowise. When you add another scary fire season in Northern California, it’s the triple threat of weirdness.

A photo was taken in July by Patty Hood of Comet Neowise in the sky above the Badger Fire near Yreka, California and it’s the perfect illustration of the crazy month of July.

The Covid-19 pandemic is obviously top of mind for most people in the world, with dangerous transmission rates closing down businesses and leaving most people quarantining in their homes for the majority of the year. Once you throw in the always scary wildfire season in NorCal, you’re dealing with dangers all around you. While we have no idea how both Covid and wildfire season will shape up this year, it’s safe to say it’s going to be difficult to deal with both simultaneously.

When you throw Comet Neowise into the mix, we’re really seeing a year that most of us will never forget. The above photo from Patty Hood doesn’t even show the impact of the Coronavirus, but it’s the perfect illustration of this crazy year we’re having. Stay safe, NorCal.
