The historic winter in Northern California has single-handedly brought California out of a 7 year drought and the snowpack numbers show that NorCal ski resorts currently hold some of the deepest snow in the world.

Following a historic month of snowfall in February, many Tahoe ski resorts extended their seasons, with some lasting well into the summer. Although some resorts are scheduled to close soon, they will do so with large snowpacks.

SnowBrains compiled a list of the 10 deepest snowpacks in North America, and unsurprisingly, NorCal ski resorts topped the list. Here is the entire list:

1. Boreal Mountain, CA: 277″

2. Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows, CA: 236″

3. Mammoth Mountain, CA: 225″

4. Sugar Bowl Resort, CA: 223″

5. Donner Ski Ranch, CA: 222″

6. Kirkwood, CA: 210″

7. Sierra-at-Tahoe, CA: 196″

8. Homewood Mountain Resort, CA: 186″

9. Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe, NV: 184″

10. Mt. Hood Meadows, OR / Wolf Creek, CO: 171″

Now that’s an impressive list! The list was compiled on April 8th and all numbers were pulled from the resort’s website.

*Note that these aren’t snowfall numbers, but rather current snowpack numbers. The snowfall numbers are MUCH bigger.
