NorCal is Buried in New Snow with 3 More Feet on the Way

The biggest storm of the winter season waited until mid-March to reach Northern California, but boy did it deliver. Initial reports show that 4-5 feet of snow fell on the Sierra since Friday, with the National Weather Service extending the Winter Storm Warning until Tuesday due to 1-3 feet of more snow on the way.

Mountain roads are covered in snow, many with mandatory chain controls and others flat-out closed. But with all NorCal ski resorts closed to the public due to the Coronavirus, why would you want to travel up there anyway?

The winter scenes throughout NorCal are quite the relief from the otherwise depressing news cycle of the day. Let’s take a look at some of the best photos/videos of this storm:

Turn up the sound to hear this mash-up of my drive from Reno to Lake Tahoe in 17 songs*. . *17 is my lucky number and it’s a coincidence that these driving clips with the radio playing in the background added up to exactly 17 songs. 🤔 . I rushed to get an earlier flight back to California from NY after I returned from the @stmaartenheinekenregatta . And I got to Tahoe just in time to find out the ski resorts are all shut because of #covid_19 . So I guess I’ll be getting outside on my own for socially distant adventures and staying inside by the fire editing videos. It’s like the universe is telling me something. GET TO WORK 😳 . In the meantime, I thought I’d give you a taste of my drive home…and my eclectic music taste. 🎶 😂 . . . . . . . . . . . . . #reno #truckee #minicountryman #snow #snowmageddon2020 #driving #winter #winterdriving #powder #mtrose #tahoe #laketahoe #truckeelove #music #mashup #snowydrive #mountainlife #mountainliving #ilovesnow #mountaindriving #mountaindrive #coronavirus #quarantine #skiing #skimountain #skiresort #skitahoe
