Mt. Shasta local Robby Burns is ready to compete for his chance to represent the United States in the Beijing Winter Olympics and he’s hosting a fundraiser at the Mt. Shasta Ski Park to help fund his journey.

On Saturday, October 23, Robby will host a prime rib dinner with giveaways and live music to help finance his training for the 2022 winter olympics. The event is being held in partnership with the Mt. Shasta Ski Park and Say Cheese Pizza, and will take place from 6-10 pm. Tickets are $60 per person or $100 per couple and can be purchased at Say Cheese Pizza in Mt. Shasta or by calling 530-925-5431. Only 150 tickets will be sold for the event.

Growing up in Mt. Shasta, Robby has spent the past 5 years competing around the world as a professional alpine snowboard racer. Over the past three years, he has competed 19 World Cup racing competitions, with his best ranking coming in at 30th in the world.

When he’s not on his snowboard, Robby spends his time in the gym working towards his goals and acting as a personal trainer. The Olympic qualifiers are set for January, meaning he will have to dedicate all his time to training leading up to the events.

If you can’t make this fundraising event, consider donating to his journey here.
