Mt. Shasta Ski Park Announces Opening Day

The early winter storms flooding Northern California the past couple of weeks have given some snow to the mountains… A lot of snow. Tahoe and Mammoth resorts have already enjoyed incredible powder days on their mountains and now, Far NorCal’s mountain’s getting involved in the fun.

Mt. Shasta Ski Park has announced it will open its slopes on Wednesday, December 12th, marking a major occasion for the ski resort that had trouble receiving enough snow to stay open during the 2017/2018 season. Right now, reports show the top of Douglas to have over 3 feet of snowpack, more than enough for some epic mid-season conditions.

After receiving a couple feet of early-season snow on Thanksgiving, park officials began working their butts off to open the park as soon as possible.

At the end of November, they got everyone excited by showing their snowplows working their way up Douglas to find 2 feet of new snow:

Now, it’s time to reap the benefits. Here’s to another awesome winter on the mountain! Stoke level 100!
