During the months of April, May and June in Northern California, the coastline is full of grey whales migrating from Baja to Trinidad. These whales can be seen all the way down the California coast, but for our money, the best place to see them is off the coast of Humboldt County.
A North Coast kayak tour company called Kayak Trinidad is one of the best ways to get face-to-face with one of the big, beautiful creatures. Kayak Trinidad specializes in marine wildlife tours, with the springs months being great for whale watchers.
Trinidad Bay is a preferred resting area for these whales during migration and the experienced tour guides at Kayak Trinidad have found the whale’s preferred resting spots and travel lanes. Here are some of sights you can see on one of their kayak whale tours:
The wildlife and whale watching tours from Kayak Trinidad are conducting 9 am to noon daily and cost $99 for the tour, including the kayak and wetsuit. For more information on Kayak Trinidad, go here.
