The ski season is coming to an end in Northern California. With very little snowfall in the past month and sunny skies prevalent over the mountains, ski resorts from Tahoe, Mammoth and Mount Shasta have announced their planned closing dates.

While spring ski season is a delight, this is a sad time for skiing enthusiasts hoping to get their final days on the mountain. Here are the closing dates for all the ski resorts in NorCal:

  • Mt. Shasta Ski Park: April 11
  • Tahoe Donner: April 11
  • Diamond Peak: April 11
  • Sierra-at-Tahoe: April 11
  • Kirkwood: April 11
  • Homewood: April 11
  • Sugar Bowl: April 11
  • Soda Springs: April 18
  • Northstar: April 18
  • Heavenly: April 18
  • Boreal: April 18
  • Mt. Rose: April 18
  • Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows: May 31
  • Mammoth Mountain: May 31

In the grand scheme of things, these dates are very early. Resorts like Squaw Valley and Mammoth typically stay open through the Fourth of July. Warm temperatures are melting the snow quickly, and ski season is looking to be short this year.
