With New Snow, Mt. Shasta Ski Park Will Open this Week

While Northern California was bombarded with snowfall in the early weeks of the winter, Mt. Shasta Ski Park struggled to receive significant snow at its base. But with a recent bevy of cold storms, mixed with round the clock snowmaking, the ski park announced it will be opening its lifts for the winter season this Friday:

Rejoice! The local’s mountain of California’s Far North is the only skiing option for many people in NorCal and thus, it’s opening officially kicks off the ski season for everyone in Northern California. While the park was initially hoping to open its lifts on December 13th, the base of the mountain lacked the snowpack to allow full operations. But with recent developments in weather, there was only a week delay for enthusiasts in the area.
