‘The Dam Bill’ for 1,200, Alex: Oroville Dam Featured on Jeopardy’s Greatest of All Time Tournament

Oroville Dam has become famous around the world following its shocking and dangerous collapse in 2017, but it was the dam’s begginnings that had contestants on Jeopardy’s Greatest of All Time episode thinking.

Alex Trebek and the Jeopardy crew are making waves with their Greatest of All Time series, matching the three best Jeopardy contestants against each other in a multi-episode tournament of the show. The show is featuring James Holzhauer, Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter in a race to see who can win three games first, and they were faced with a question about Oroville Dam in a category called “The Dam Bill.”

When James Holzhauer chose the topic for 1,200 in the third round (each episode in the tournament is longer than a typical episode), this questions was asked:

With a swift press of the button, Ken Jennings quickly responded with “What is California?”

It was a quick moment in a historic Jeopardy battle, but one that could get any Northern California resident excited. Heck, I’m excited when I can get just one answer right when watching Jeopardy. But also a great history lesson for anyone interested in Oroville Dam.

The series will continue on the night Tuesday, January 14 on ABC.

  1. With havin so much written content do you ever run into any problems of plagorism or copyright violation? My website has a lot of exclusive content I’ve either created myself or outsourced but it appears a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my authorization. Do you know any techniques to help reduce content from being ripped off? I’d truly appreciate it.
