On July 23rd, a flat tire on a trailer sparked a fire in the Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. 39 days later, that fire that burned over 1,600 structures, claimed seven lives and torched 230,000 acres.

The Carr Fire became the sixth largest fire in the history of California and captured the attention of the world when its “Firenado” ripped through neighborhoods in Shasta County. The fire moved all the way from Whiskeytown to Trinity and Shasta Lakes, covering nearly 360 square miles.

Now, there is a documentary coming out about the fire and its lasting effect on the community.

Stronger Than Carr is a film that highlights the resilience of the brave people of Shasta County during and following the devastating Carr Fire. The movie was created by Spero Pictures and will have its premiere at the Redding Civic Auditorium March 3rd. See the beautiful trailer for the film:

Here is a description of the film from the filmmakers:

Honor the heroes of the Carr Fire as we present the World Premiere of the STRONGER THAN CARR mini-documentary. Hear from first responders in a series of speakers, and thank those who saved our community. This is a free but ticketed event.

As of right now, the premiere of the film is sold out. It is currently unclear when others will be able to see the film in the future. We will let you know as soon as we hear an update.
