South Lake Tahoe Joins Truckee in Asking People Not to Visit Right Now

In an unprecedented move from the visitor’s bureaus of Tahoe’s most popular towns, Truckee and South Lake Tahoe, they have asked people not to visit the towns in the midst of the Coronavirus outbreak.

Both towns employed social media this week to ask people to wait until after the Coronavirus pandemic to visit:

South Lake Tahoe’s public announcement came just hours after a similar message was shared by the town of Truckee.

“The mountain town you love needs you to love it from a safe, social distance. Stay home, stay healthy and we’ll see you when it’s safe to travel again,” South Lake Tahoe wrote in the message.

While the Tahoe area currently sits as beautiful as its been all winter with a big coat of new snow, the Coronavirus outbreak has closed all the nearby ski resorts and hindered local businesses from their usual operations.

While Tahoe remains one of the most beautiful destinations on the planet, it’s important to give the locals space as they deal with the Coronavirus pandemic, just like every other community in America.
