Rainy Conditions Force Mt. Shasta Ski Park to Close this Week

The warm storm that hit Northern California this weekend brought April showers to Mt. Shasta Ski Park. The two inches of rain has forced the ski resort to close operations until Friday, April 12.

The announcement comes as the ski park released its spring schedule with a tentative closing date of April 21. Here are the hours of operations for the remainder of the year, weather permitting:

  • Sunday through Thursday
    • Base open from 8am-4pm.
    • All Chairlifts open from 9am-4pm.
  • Fridays
    • Base open from 8am-7pm.
    • Coyote Chairlift open from 9am-4pm.
    • Douglas and Marmot Chairlifts open from 9am-7pm.
  • Saturdays
    • Base open from 8am-6pm.
    • Coyote Chairlift open from 9am-4pm.
    • Douglas and Marmot Chairlifts open from 9am-6pm.

The next week looks like sunny skies at the park, giving skiers and snowboarders a few final chances to hit the slopes:
