Paradise’s Noble Orchards Looking for Apple Pickers Amidst Camp Fire Devastation

Noble Orchards was a successful apple orchard in Paradise when the Camp Fire hit, burning 11 buildings on their 35-acre property and destroying much of their equipment. But one thing California’s most deadly and devastating fire didn’t destroy was their actual orchard, and now the owners are looking for apple pickers to help them harvest their summer harvest.

The orchard is inviting volunteers to help pick apples for the next couple of weekends, hoping they can recover some of the losses they incurred from the fire. They hosted U-Pick Days on the weekends for the public to help out, and are now looking for able-bodied volunteers to help pick apples:

Noble Orchards was founded in 1921 and is now run by Jim and Laurie Noble, who lost much of the infrastructure that Jim’s grandfather built on the orchards in the 1930’s. With many of the trees still intact, they are hoping to make a little money as they recover from the Camp Fire.

The U-Pick Days will be held for the next couple of weekends, while serious volunteers should contact Noble Orchards through their Facebook page to help out.

On November 8, 2018 the Camp Fire became deadliest and most destructive fire in California’s history as it blazed through the town of Paradise, leaving little left in its wake of destruction. The fire burned down 18,804 structures and displaced tens of thousands of residents in the area.
