Interstate 80 Remains Closed to All Traffic Near Tahoe Due to Storm
Any Holiday travel was completely stifled on Tuesday evening when a “bombogenesis” storm descended into Northern California, forcing officials to close many roads in high elevated areas. One of those roads was the popular Interstate 80 near Tahoe, which a of Wednesday morning remains closed in both directions between Nyack and Truckee.
Good morning from Gold Run! Here’s your morning update!

I-80 Is closed from Nyack to Truckee for traffic in both directions with no ETO.
SR-20 is closed from Nevada Street to the 80/20 interchange.
The announcement is no surprise since the road was closed almost immediately once the storm hit on Tuesday, and multiple spinouts and collisions forced the California Highway Patrol to put a kibosh on any travel in the area. As of Wednesday morning, the road looked treacherous:
Another notable road closure in NorCal is Interstate 5 between Yreka and Redding, which remains closed for 100 miles due to multiple spinouts. There is no ETO for reopening.
Can I just say what a relief to find an individual who really knows what they’re talking about online. You certainly know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More and more people have to read this and understand this side of the story. I was surprised that you’re not more popular since you certainly have the gift.
