BREAKING: It’s Snowing in Tahoe!

The first storm of the season has arrived in Northern California and it’s bringing snow to the Tahoe mountains!

The webcams at Squaw Valley show a dusting of snow throughout the high elevation resort, signaling the official beginning of the winter season in Tahoe. Here are the photos as of 11:30 am on Friday:

The only accumulation seems to be at the top of the mountain, with very little being seen at the base. But it’s a great start to the beginning of the storm!

The storm is forecast to bring precipitation throughout NorCal from Friday afternoon through Sunday morning, with a potential for up to a foot of snow in high elevation areas of the Sierra. Here is the most updated forecast from the National Weather Service:
