Brand-New Adventure Park Opens in Northern California

Following months of delays, Quarry Park Adventures, a brand-new “adventure park” in Rocklin, has opened to the public. The park features all sorts of adventures to visitors, including zip lines, rope courses, boating and rock climbing.

The park was set to open earlier in May, but after city officials placed unforeseen safety regulations on the venue, the opening has been delayed nearly six months. On Saturday, the family-friendly theme park was finally open to the public.

The park is located in the 160-year-old Quarry District of Rocklin, and the walls of granite surrounding the park make for a beautiful setting. The granite was also the cause of the delays.

“Who knew that this granite would be so incredibly hard to work with? It’s the only park of its kind,”Quarry Park Adventures President David Busch told CBS 13. “It’s like really unique so there’s not a book written on this.”

The surrounding quarry once supplied granite to buildings like the State Capitol and the U.S. Mint in San Francisco before it ceased operations in 2005. The theme of the park pays homage to the California gold rush.

With activities like giant zip lines, cliffhanger free fall, aerial adventures and lake activities, there’s something for everyone at the adventure park. For information on tickets and park’s location, go to quarrypark.com.
